Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 5, 2026
StoriesMask was built to learn as little about you as it can. This page lists the small amount of data that running the site involves.
No account, no login
There are no user accounts on StoriesMask. We never ask for an Instagram username, a password or any other credential, and nothing you do here is tied to an identity.
Searches and viewed content
A username you type is used once, to fetch that public profile, and is not written to any database. Stories, highlights, posts, reels and pictures stream from Instagram's servers through ours to your browser and are not retained. Downloads travel the same route.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps ordinary access logs for a short time, as every host does: IP address, requested URL, timestamp and browser type. They exist to keep the site running, catch abuse and diagnose errors, and they expire on their own.
Bot protection
Cloudflare Turnstile runs a silent check before each search to separate people from scrapers. Cloudflare handles a limited amount of technical data for that purpose under its own privacy policy; none of it reaches us as personal information.
Cookies and local storage
StoriesMask sets no tracking cookies of its own. Your watchlist and recent searches live in your browser's local storage and never leave the device. Language is carried in the URL, not a cookie. Cookies from advertising partners are covered in the next section.
Advertising
Display advertising funds the site. Ad networks such as Google AdSense and their partners may use cookies or device identifiers to tailor ads to your past browsing on this and other sites. Personalised ads can be turned off in Google's Ads Settings. No ad network ever receives the usernames you search.
Analytics
Should we add analytics, it will count page views and basic device types in aggregate with IP addresses anonymised. We do not profile individual visitors.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Your rights
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to export or erase on request. If you think we do hold something, write to us and we will look.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and meaningful changes are noted here.
