DMCA and content removal
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Nothing is hosted on StoriesMask. When someone searches a public profile, the media streams from Instagram's servers. What we can do is block a profile so that searches for it return nothing.
Who can request removal
The holder of an Instagram account, or someone authorised to act for them, can ask for that account to be blocked here. You can also flag content you own that is appearing under a profile you do not control.
What to send
Send an email to hello@storiesmask.com with "DMCA" in the subject. Include the Instagram username, a link to the content, a statement that you own it or act for the owner, a way to contact you, and a statement that your notice is accurate. Posting a short story from the account that mentions the request is the fastest way for us to confirm ownership.
What happens next
Requests are reviewed within a few working days. A valid one puts the profile on a block list, after which searches for it come back empty. The content stays on Instagram; only its visibility through StoriesMask changes.
Removing content from Instagram
When someone else posted your content without permission, reporting it to Instagram is the quickest route, because StoriesMask only ever shows what Instagram makes public. Once Instagram takes it down, it disappears from here as well.
